Cesar Marquez Perez 'Parajes' Bierzo, 2023

Predominantly Mencía, with a field blend of other local red and white varieties depending on the vineyard source. The 2023 'Parajes' brings together fruit from numerous sites across Bierzo, resulting in a red with fresh raspberry, wild cherry, and plum alongside violets, savory herbs, and a subtle peppery note. Medium-light in weight, it combines juicy fruit with fine tannins and an earthy, mineral undertone. Oak maturation provides structure without dominating the fruit, while the lively acidity keeps the palate balanced and food-friendly. Food pairing: roast pork, grilled lamb, chorizo with lentils, or wild mushroom risotto.
